1st International Symposium to Advance TOTAL WORKER HEALTH™

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), part of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), together with over 14 prestigious partners is excited to announce the 1st International Symposium to Advance TOTAL WORKER HEALTH™. Building upon successful past meetings of the 2004 NIOSH Steps to a Healthier US Workforce Conference and the 2007 NIOSH WorkLife National Symposium, this meeting seeks to advance the tenets of Total Worker Health (TWH).

 

Join more than 500 scientists and practitioners from around the world who are dedicated to both protecting and promoting the safety, health, and well-being of workers in exploring the developing research, practices, programs and policies using a coordinated approach that integrates health protection and health promotion. Learn the state of the science and practice from over 100 leading experts on topics such as recent trends in demographics, employment conditions, worker safety, injury, and illness as they relate to the health and well-being of workers; strategies to prevent chronic disease addressed through work organization factors; measurement and analysis of the economic value of integrating a culture worker safety and health with organizational sustainability; frameworks for developing, implementing and evaluating TWH  interventions across industries; tactics for gaining leadership support for workplace health initiatives; future directions of worker well-being; solutions for providing effective and coordinated workplace health and safety resources for small businesses; health and wellness challenges of transportation workers; ideas for addressing tobacco cessation in small manufacturing businesses; impacts of healthy leadership and supervision on organizational health and productivity; principles for enhancing employee engagement and….so much more.
