Verifying BSL-3 Performance

September 15-16, 2025

This two-day course focuses on the important considerations when commissioning and verifying the performance of ABSL-3 and BSL-3 laboratories. Participants spend mornings in the classroom and afternoons in hands-on workshops practicing the tests required to verify ABSL-3 and BSL-3 lab performance.

Participants Will Learn To:

  • Contrast the difference between performance verification (PV), commissioning, and regulatory inspections
  • Describe the fundamental components of PV– documentation, inspection, and testing
  • Outline the regulatory and other drivers for PV
  • Perform fundamental PV inspections and tests
  • Implement a program for BSL-3 PV at their (or their clients’) institutions
