Testing HEPA Filters in the Classroom
We have wrapped up our Spring 2025 session of Testing of HEPA Filtered Systems and Pharmaceutical Cleanrooms, and what a fantastic group we had! During this session, held from June 10-12, the class completely full with 32 students representing three different countries. Certainly the varied backgrounds of attendees brought a diverse blend of international experience and perspectives to the classroom.
In particular, this spring’s session brought together facility engineers, cleanroom certifiers, QA professionals, HEPA filter manufacturers and others who work daily to uphold the highest standards in controlled environments. Participants came ready to learn, collaborate, and tackle challenges in their facilities through classroom and hands-on training.
During these three packed days, students dove into the technical and regulatory aspects of certifying cleanrooms and HEPA-filtered systems in pharmaceutical and GMP environments. Through a mix of lectures, hands-on workshops, and group exercises, attendees learned to:
- Perform in-place HEPA filter integrity testing
- Conduct airflow visualization and pressure differential verification
- Evaluate ISO classifications and analyze particle count data for compliance
- Apply the appropriate regulations and standards to certify controlled environments
Above all, the curriculum was designed not only to teach technical skills and problem-solving, but also to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure cleanliness and safety in controlled environments. Therefore, with the variety of backgrounds represented in the classroom, students had the opportunity to share their own unique perspectives, and attack problems from many different points of view.
A Night Out at Duffy’s
One of the highlights of the week was our networking dinner at Duffy’s Tavern & Grill in nearby Kennebunk. Here, students and instructors had a chance to relax, enjoy a lobster dinner, and make valuable connections outside the classroom. As a result, the casual atmosphere made it easy to share experiences and build relationships that will last beyond the course.

Why It Matters
This class continues to be one of our most in-demand offerings. This reflects the critical need for qualified professionals who can ensure the integrity of cleanrooms in highly regulated industries. Participants of all skill levels left with practical tools and renewed confidence in their ability to meet FDA, ISO, and industry standards.
Thank You
To our instructors, participants, and everyone who helped make this session a success, thank you. Your enthusiasm and curiosity made for a collaborative and energetic learning environment. We hope to see many of you in future Eagleson Institute courses!
Stay tuned for upcoming course dates and new offerings!
